Today the children got to play with  and explore all sorts of sensory tubes. They were filled with all sorts of things like glitter, feathers, bells, coloured stones etc.
They also made some more Easter cards. They got very carried away with the stickers but had a great time.

 

Today we also made some rice krispie cakes. The children got to put all the ingredients into the pot and then mix it all together. I had rice crispies all over the place but they had a great time none the less.

 

Today the children got to play, feel and explore goo. It was a big green blob and their faces were a picture when they touched it for the first time. Some of them weren’t to sure of it to start with but their curiosity grew the more they saw it move in my hand. Most of them grew to like it.

Today the children got to draw on the patio slabs using chalk. They chose the colours they wanted and thought it was great. They were more enthusiastic and excited about drawing today than normal. One of them couldn’t stop giggling while he was drawing.

 

Today the children let loose with the poster paints creating their own masterpieces. The weather was so nice that they got to do it outside, which was nice.

We played a game today were the children used their tactile skills to identify objects under a cloth. They got to see a lot of objects on the floor, then I took them away and put one object under the cloth. They then tried to identify the object by touch alone. They had great fun and did really well.

The children had a blast today playing with the musical instruments. They all had a lot of fun making a lot of noise.

Today the older children got to experiment with the pinboard. They got to create their own shapes and patterns. They really enjoyed using the hammer.

 

The children dressed up in a costume donated by the parents of one of the children I used to look after.

We also looked at the contents of the chinese new year box which we hired for the day. There was books, clothes, dolls, posters, traditional dress and many more items.

 

Over the past two weeks the children have been practicing for their first nativity. They did really well and all looked great in their costumes.
