We went to the zoo. The weather was bad again but the children didn’t care and we made the most of the visit. We saw lions, tigers, elephant, giraffe, gorilla, orangutan, rhino, zebra and baby flamingos out for a walk. When the weather got too bad we went into the soft play area and then to the crocodile and reptile houses.

Today I took the children to the zoo. It was raining but the children still enjoyed looking at the animals and splashing in puddles.

It was a nice day today so we went to the zoo to look at the goats. We had a picnic whilst we were there and also kicked a football around in the open space. Then we looked at the vervet monkeys, tigers, cheetah, wolves, otters and the lynx. We also got to see a bird of prey demonstration.

Today we went to the house of marbles. We looked at the marble runs, including the massive one that covers one of the walls We also got to play skittles and look at the largest marble in Britain weighing in at 2.3 tons which was floating on water and could be made to roll on the spot.

We looked at the glass blowing and played marbles outside.

 

Today we went to the Zoo. The children spent some time in the soft play area before lunch and then went to look at the animals after.

We saw the crocodiles and the reptiles in the reptile house. We also looked in on the kangaroos, anoa and rhinos.

We went to the zoo today and the weather was gorgeous. We had lunch there and saw lots of animals. The children took part in the close encounters and got to touch a tortoise and handle some Giant Land snails.

Trio Childcare Solutions organised a teddy bears picnic but unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse so we all held it indoors in a hotel on the hoe. The children wore bear masks and also took teddies with them. A lady visited and did some zumba dancing with the children. It was great fun and good exercise.

At the end of the event the weather was better so we went up onto the hoe for a walk and visited a sensory garden.

Today we went to the zoo to look for African animals in line with this months theme of Africa. We made a tick list so the children could mark off which animals they had seen. The only one on the list we didn’t manage to see was the cheetah but we did see a couple of African animals that weren’t on the list such as the bongo and the red river hog.

The meerkats had some babies so we had a good time comparing the meerkats

We also visited the zoo education centre and children enjoyed using their senses and exploring other hands on activities.

We went on a trip on a steam train today in line with this months theme of transport. We also visited the rare breeds centre at totnes. We visited the Buckfast Steam railway which travels from Buckfastleigh to Totnes.  The  children all enjoyed the trip and all took turns sitting next to the window.

The children got to feed the goats at the Rare Breeds Centre and also held a stroked Guinea Pigs and a little owl. They all sat on the tractor and petted lambs. There were a variety of other animals to see such as Golden Pheasants, Hedgehogs  and Bantam chickens.
