- How clean are your hands?
- Checking hands after washing
- Ultra violet hand cleaning checking
We borrowed equipment from Plymouth City Council this week so that we could see how well we wash our hands.
The children put the cream on their hands and then washed them, they then put them under the ultra violet light to see how much was still left on their hands. It showed the children that we need to take more care washing our hands as they missed a lot (mainly the backs of the hands). We talked about how they could do a better job and then we went and washed our hands again. They then looked to see if their was any of the cream left on their hands. There was still a little bit left but they had done a much better job.
I told the parents all about this equipment when they came to pick up their children and even offered them a chance to have a go. Most of them accepted but I think it’s best left a secret between them and their children how well they did.
